EDIT: You no longer need to have anything specific in the YouTube description.  If you entered before the rule change, please edit your description to remove the previously required text. (recommended and appreciated, but not required - we just don't want to confuse the viewing public)

Click here to view and vote on contest entries.

EDIT: Please note, submission videos should include only visuals created by you and/or your direct team members and only visual effects/animations created in Spriter. Screen recording of you clicking or navigating the Spriter interface or your OS to show the finished animation(s) is also allowed. Please do not show recorded game or engine footage or post-processed video effects not made in Spriter. The only allowed exceptions to this are the simple fades that YouTube adds automatically if you submit your animations as a slide-show.

To submit your video on YouTube, you first need to get it into a video format suitable for upload.  We will describe a method to directly upload a gif exported from Spriter, but feel free to also use your favorite screencapture software.  There is also a free version of Bandicam that is simple to use.
With any screencapture software, just press play in Spriter and click each of your animations (one or more) and allow it to play for a few seconds.   If, like Bandicam, your capture software allows you to select a portion of the screen to capture, you may wish to only select the canvas area, or a box around your character.   This is allowed, but not required.

If you do not want to use video capture software, you may use YouTube's slideshow feature to display gifs exported directly from Spriter if your animations are 10 seconds long or shorter.  I will post instructions on how to do this at the end of the post.

    YouTube Submission Instructions:
Here is how you should submit your entry (regardless of whether you capture it or create a slideshow on YouTube):
There are no requirements for the title, as long as it doesn't contain any offensive or inappropriate language. EDIT: You no longer need to have anything specific in the YouTube description.  If you entered before the rule change, please edit your description to remove the previously required text. (recommended and appreciated, but not required - we just don't want to confuse the viewing public) Make sure the video is set to public. And when you're all finished, press Publish. Go to the official contest entry playlist and add your video.  Click the Continue button on the blue banner that says Add to this playlist as <Your Username Here> and then click the Add videos button on the bottom right to add your entry to the playlist.  Finally, come back to the submission thread, and post a reply to the thread with the name of your submission.  Also paste a link to the YouTube video, which should automatically embed it into your post. Share your video with everyone you know and tell them about the contest!

The following information is only needed if you're not planning on using screenrecording software.

Uploading Spriter exported gifs using YouTubes Slideshow feature:
If you want to have YouTube directly convert your gifs into a video using the YouTube's Slideshow feature, understand there will be a 10 second limit, per animation, imposed by the limitations of the Slideshow.

    Exporting your gif:
Select a background color that looks good for your character, or if you prefer, leave the default gray. Go to File | Export Animation To PNG/GIF... Set the fps to a maximum of approximately 30. Make sure to check 'Fill Background With Current Canvas Background'.  If you do not, the background will default to black upon uploading. Make sure you have set your output file options to 'animated gif'   For more information about the remaining export options, refer to the Help menu within Spriter.

Once you've exported each of your animations to a gif, here's how you upload them to YouTube as a slideshow.
First, make sure you're logged in.
Click the Upload button next to your avatar and notifications icon. Click the 'Create' button under 'Photo slideshow'

Click on Upload photos Name the album whatever you wish Select all of the exported gifs in your folder, and drag them into the drop area. On the next screen you'll have the option to 'add more photos' or click 'next' to continue.

Check the box next to 'No audio; Set the 'Slide duration' to '10 seconds' Set the 'Slide effect' to 'None' Select a Transition type. Click on Upload.

After that, follow the YouTube Submission Instructions above for the remaining steps.

I'm not sure which platform or implementation you're using, but all of the implementations I know of do all the transformations in real time.  Though I've seen a couple of speed comparisons where Spriter compare's favorably to other modular animation tools, because of the time it saves using the mainline key references instead of having to step through each timeline finding the current key (as opposed to time saved on transformations).   Of course there is the option of exporting to a png sequence or spritesheet direct from Spriter, but I suspect you're wanting to save those space requirements for runtime, so that solution may not work for you.

Hello. Sorry you're having trouble. Have you tried these yet:
If you have 32 bit Windows you only need the 32 bit version. If you have 64 bit windows, you need both the 32 and 64 bit versions:
    32: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... px?id=5555
    64: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=14632 (requires both the 32 and 64 bit versions)

Hello everyone.  Here's a new Spriter release with a couple of minor additions and several important bug fixes.  Enjoy!

    Download here

    Spriter Release 11
    Released 4/20/2017
    Additions and Enhancements
Added pro feature to allow you to set background guide images per animation. It's impossible to accidentally move or edit the background images unless you enter the guide image editing mode. Guide image information is saved in a way that will be ignored by external implemenations and Spriter's own spritesheet generation. Hovering over metadata keys (variables and tags) now reveals their data Changes
Spriter will now prevent you from attempting to export to png/gif with an invalid custom rect source or target size (previously exited the dialog without exporting) Added option to right-click to rename in the z-order and hierarchy panes Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug where moving animations from one entity to another would result in missing objects if the target entity already contained those objects Fixed a crash that would occur upon closing the edit variable dialog if a key was double clicked to open it and then that key was removed in the dialog Fixed a bug where variable keys couldn't be created in new animations created after the new variable was added Fixed a bug where if a project was loaded with an entity that contained a variable, keys for that variable couldn't be created in animations that didn't already have at least one key Fixed a bug that allowed you to drag an animation containing a sub-entity into the entity it was using as a sub-entity. This would corrupt the animation, as entities cannot be sub-entities of themselves Fixed a bug that would cause objects to incorrectly update angles on multiple keys after being drag/dropped under certain circumstances Fixed a bug where copy and pasting pivot points wouldn't work in certain situations Fixed several bugs and a crash when moving animations from one entity to another under certain conditions Spriter now attempts to automatically repair broken file associations that would cause default pivot points to reset to the top-left corner

To use bounding boxes precalculated in Spriter for correct clipping and effects, in Spriter, simply click on the box icon on the animation widget. Use settings roughly like what you see below:

framerate: In order to calculate a bounding box that takes tweening into account, Spriter will go through the animation at a set framerate. 60 is recommended.
padding: Extra pixels added to each side of the bounding box to ensure that frames in between the above calculated don't go slightly outside. 0 is probably fine for most cases, but 1 or 2 pixels isn't going to affect your performance and makes doubly sure.

The best workflow would probably be to run the calculation once on all animations the first time you use it, and each time you add an animation. After that, only bother recalculating the bounding box if new animation changes massively affect the bounding box, or if you notice any clipping at runtime. And of course, run it once before shipping or demoing your game.

Seems like that got it! I'm not entirely sure what specific action caused it (I just moved and rotated the objects around a bunch) but I wasn't able to get it to happen after several tries this time.
Thanks a lot for the quick fix!

As Mike mentioned, there are actions to override the animation in the C2 plugin.  They're under the Override Animation section in the Add Action dialog, They're pretty straightforward.
The Override Object Animation action is the more simple of the two.
In your case you most likely want to change the angle of the forearm bone, or if you're not using bones, the forearm sprite.
You specify the object name from Spriter for the bone or sprite you want to change.
Specify the component (x,y,angle,x scale, etc) you want to override.  In this case, angle.
Then you set a new value, like 45, if you want it at a 45 degree angle.  You would have to figure out whatever math you wanted to use to decide what angle for any given moment.

The Override Bones With IK action does IK that is the equivalent of holding shift while changing the angle of a child bone in Spriter.
For the action, you specify the name of the child and parent bone you want to apply the IK to.  Then you give a target - where the IK joint should reach to.  In Spriter this is where your mouse pointer is when doing this type of IK.  Again, you'd have to figure out the math you wanted to use to decide where the IK target would be for any part of the recoil.

You probably won't need the last parameter,Additional child bone length, for your purposes.   This is if you want to extend (or negative to reduce) the length of the child bone.  This is useful in cases where the tip of the bone in Spriter isn't exactly the point that should be reaching for the target.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Interval is the snapping interval that you set using the '...' button next to the snapping (magnet) button on the timeline window.
It's the size of the interval, in milliseconds that Spriter will snap the keys to if you have snapping enabled.
Sorry I must have missed the question earlier.  The gline shouldn't always be there.  It's a bug, and probably only in the scon version.  It should only be there if you are using guidelines in Spriter Pro (You can drag them from the rulers on the top or left side of the main canvas).   Gline is the tag where Spriter saves their locations.
