Any comments or feedback? I've waited long to get to share my animations, so I'd be happy to hear others opinions, or get feedback from more experienced animators, so I know better how to improve.
Also I couldn't find a forum about the forum rules, but if double posting isn't allowed here, I'm sorry and won't do it again. I'm not going to post here any new replies anyway, unless I get to answer to comments of course.

Angelofame reacted to Mike at BrashMonkey in How to use Point, Box, Variable and Tags in Spriter and then how to use them in Construct 3 ?
This is it so far, I'll make more videos when I can. Collision rectangles are normal construct sprites once imported into Construct 2 or 3... look for them in the family folder of the Spriter project you imported... you can do overlap or collision checks for them just like any other standard Construct sprites.

is there any tutorial ? I didn't find how to control or trigger them in Construct 2 or 3.

    Hi
further to my post above, i have ostiarius installed which stops unsign binaries from executing, it would appear that yours are unsigned so Spriter is not allowed to run.

When using texture Packer as the source: Saving the project causes all my pivot points to reset to 0, 0 and I cant even get started. Let me show you.

    System
    I am using Windows 10 64 bit
I am using the version you download from the website, Release 11
    Pro is activated

Here is how you reproduce this:
I am using Texture packer to export Spriter specific file format. This means exporting an image and a piece of JSON  I then target the folder with spriter and begin a new project spriter correctly detects the JSON and makes a 'folder' of the images. So far, so good. I then set any pivot point on any image (where you see in the gif starting.) I can reopen and confirm points are saved, as you see. Now, either I will save, or the 'autosave' will save. Now the work I did is reset to 0, 0
Also when the save or autosave occurs, the program will periodically crash as well.
This happens specifically when using texture packer, and not when simply targeting images in a directly.

here is a gif of it happening. Pardon any gif artifacts, that was to reduce the size so you could see it happening.

If I try to open a specific Spriter file in OSX with double clicking in Finder it will launch Spriter but won't open any Spriter files. This has been an issue for me for long time, is this common or only for me?

When I select multiple sprites at once and drag them around the canvas (with the mouse) they move at different angles and speeds instead of all together. When moving with the keyboard it works OK. But without mouse support Spriter 11 is pretty much unusable with this issue.

This problem doesn't occur in Spriter 10 and below. It's very frustrating we haven't seen Spriter 12 to resolve this as I'm stuck using Spriter 10 when I need the bug fixes that are in Spriter 11. Please provide an update on when we will see a new release that fixes this issue.

Spriter 2 will definitely be able to be a powerful tool in a pixel artists arsenal, but we can't get into specific feature details yet.

will it be possible to animate pixel art in spriter2 with bones (ik, etc...)?
i know it's impossible to have clean animations like that, but it's a great starting point for a fluid animation in pixel art.
Please implement the rotsprite (used in Aseprite for example) algorithm

    Thanks!

The scml file is not enough for us to troubleshoot. If you'd like, zip up the entire Spriter project (the folder with your scml and all the images it uses) and email it to mike@brashmonkey.com and I'll take a look.

Don't worry at all. We're thrilled that you're excited about it and incredibly humbled by and appreciative of the incredible patience and support the Spriter community have shown us. We promise we're doing everything we possibly can to make Spriter 2 special ,and worth the very....very...long wait.
There will be an update with more info soon.

Angelofame reacted to shadowslair in Scaling bones working unexpectedly
The problem is that your character is not setup correctly for use with bones. You can try to rotate your character body image +90 (or -90) degrees in your image editing program (so it looks like it is lying on its side), then go back to spriter, adjust the rotation and it should scale properly.

Angelofame reacted to 1kirigiri in Importing to Unity causes messed up animations
When I imported my sprites using Spriter2Unity, the animations look very off when played.

I see two issues here that may or may not be related to each other:
    1. The Game preview has the sprites in odd z-order.
    2. The dress of the character is moving unusually. In Spriter, the animation looks just fine.
I am very confused as to why this is happening.
Note: I am aware of the issue of "Pivot points that are assigned on the canvas. Right now if you do this, your sprite will be misaligned when imported in Unity." However, I changed all the default pivot points on the file palette.

    Hi Everyone,
Here's a new video demonstrating the first Pro-only features to make it into Spriter B2. Namely IK, IK locking, and Rotation/Scale Inheritance toggling for child sprites or bones.

    cheers,

I'm glad you figured out the problem. Sorry I just spotted this thread now. I think the only way to entice the developers of GMS to better support Spriter is to make Spriter as popular as possible, with the most useful content and features. We've got several nice new art packs coming early 2018, and some other plans brewing. Wish us luck.

Angelofame reacted to Entropy in Unity. Wishes to author.
I bought Pro version for use it in my Unity projects. Authors say that I can use animations from Spriter in Unity, but I found unpleasant feature - I can’t export Spriter animations to Unity animations directly. Instead I have to use third-party converters such as Spriter2Unity or SpriterDotNet.Unity which can work unstable or not supported long time. For example, Spriter2Unity does not work on unity2017.1.1.
My wish to the authors - please, add internal tool to export Spriter animation to Unity animations.
