Copying Image jacks up Z Order

Hi MasterZenith,

Adding a new sprite to a single keyframe means that Spriter is adding a new image to the z-order stack, but because each key frame can have a unique z order (by design) it could throw off the z-order you had already established for that frame.  We'll try to improve the logic it uses to figure out the desired z-order placement for the pasted object, but its more convoluted that you might think.

This is indeed, as rubberboy mentioned, the reason we added the "copy z-order to all frames" command to the menu. you can go to a previous frame with proper z-order (and the same sprites being used), copy the z-order, and paste it to all frames..to fix the z-order damage done when adding sprites to frames.

Later we'll be adding the ability to copy z-order and then paste it to specific frames. But can't promise how soon this new feature will become available.

Cheers.

You could check whats current z order before pasting to other keyframes and use it when pasting , it wont be needed to click copy z order. There's no figuring out just variable to set and acquire for z order. Is it really  much more convulted in spriter ? Some stuff could be more user friendly and by default always remember z-order when copying to other frames, i dont see any scenario when you would want it at the very top on other keyframes, unless its supposed to be on top which is very very very rare :) Similar stuff is with adding new bodypart , its only added to current keyframe, maybe small box to tick "add to all keyframes" or hlding shift when adding could solve this scary issue for newcomers. It scared me a lot.
