    Hi again AniMittra,

I agree, testing the latest version and then reporting any remaining issues directly on Spriter2Unity's Github page is definitely an excellent first step into making sure Spriter is better supported ASAP. On our end, Edgar can't help directly with Unity support until after the generic implementation is finished.  We hope to make an update post about it's progress within the next week or two.

    Hi Everyone,

I found the system setting to allow animated GIFs for avatars etc and have switched it on.  If your avatar isn't animating as it should, just choose to change the image in your user control panel and then re-upload it and it should then be animating as expected.

    Hi Krymzonsky,

Spriter did suffer a number of prolonged delays but has lately been progressing nicely.  The current pause in updates is specifically for Edgar to work on a fully featured generic Spriter implementation, which hes working on now. Once finished it will be released as open source and should make it very fast and easy for any developer to port full Spriter support to any particular authoring system.

Once Edgar is finished with this generic implementation he'll be working directly with the developers and communities of all popular authoring systems (including Game Maker) to get Spriter fully supported asap.

We cant give a reliable time estimate for when the generic implementation will be finished, so stay tuned for updates once Edgar has specific milestones of progress to report.

    Hi Everyone,

As you might have noticed, we've upgraded to a totally new forums system.  The migration seems to have gone off without a hitch, but there's the possibility that if you posted during the 30 minute window in which we were migrating that your post ended up in the old forums and didn't make it over here.

For anyone with a missing post, for a limited time you can actually access the old forum by going here: http://www.brashmonkey.com/forumOLD and copy the text from your post so you can easily repost it into the new forum.  If this is required I apologize for the inconvenience.

As many of you may recall from a previous update post, I'm helping game artist Renita Orellana to finish her platformer game. The game is not a BrashMonkey product, but it does tie in with the creation of our first two fully animated game art packs by the fact that we're letting Renita use them as we develop them, so we thought the Spriter community might find it interesting.

Renita has created a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the games completion. You can find out more by visiting the official Kickstarter page here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/renitao/hyper-segtendio-siblings?ref=live
The game is not ours, and contributing to it will not directly support BrashMonkey or Spriter, but a successful Kickstarter campaign would ensure a great third party environment art pack (by Renita) and a very fun (and casual gamer friendly) game. I'll also be using the opportunity to create several “behind the scenes” tutorial videos for aspiring game artists.
For those who don't know, I'd already begun creating some tutorial vids which can be seen here:

Mike at BrashMonkey got a reaction from arnzzz in Using 3d Models as guides For Spriter
I'd already posted this in the private Nnar development forums, but figure everyone should get a peak.
    Hi Everyone,
I've commissioned accoplished 3d artist Saika Fu to begin creating fully rigged low poly 3d models of the cast of Characters from Prophecies of Nnar. To create the 2d animations for the game, 3d models will first be animated and then rendered out, to create guide frame images which will then be recreated in Spriter using hand "painted" body part images.

NOTE: this is not intended as an actual animation for the game, its simply to demonstrate the quality of the model and rigging.
This method not only leads to the highest quality animations in the lowest amount of time, but we'll also be able to render out the animations from other perspectives to quickly create Spriter art packs for overhead and isometric games such as classic Zelda titles.
Also, These models are expertly done and optimized (low poly) so if we ever want to make an actual 3d Nnar title, we'll already have all the fully animated 3d characters ready to go!
More characters and actual animations to come. Stay tuned!
