  1. You can use the serial more than once. Feel free to install on your work computer as well.
  2. Spriter will always be its own tool/program The plug-ins will be as feature rich as possible for any of the game authoring systems and will allow you to load in and have full control of the Spriter Projects you've made (Animations, sound triggering, variable changing, collision rects etc) For example, the plug-in for Construct Classic (Which will be the first finished plug-in) will seem alot like Cnstructs Sprite objects, only you'll have features in its properties etc to control and acess all of the information from the Spriter files.. Stay tuned...when its closer to finished I'm sire there will be a preview vid.
  3. Great suggestion telles0808, This wont be happening for the curent Spriter Pro, BUT I'm fairly certian the all new Spriter Pro thats in the works will indeed support skinning. I'll report back if I found out I'm mistaken.
  4. Hi telles0808, About the PNG's... unfortunately there's no way I can change the current Spriter to support PNG's that it doesnt currently work with.. I'd suggets using a free program perhaps like Irfanview to convert them to a standart 24 bit PNG. Sorry for the inconvenience. As for the window issue..sorry, I had totally neglected to consider vertical windows bar. Have you tried saving your windows arangement? Worst case senario you'll just need to load the settings when you boot. As for the Alpha version for testing..As a Spriter Pro Purchaser, you should have received an email with links related to downloading the alpha version and reporting bugs and feature requests. If this has not happened, please email mail@brashmonkey.com with the email associated with your paypal payment and I'll make sure you get the links ASAP. Again, sorry for the inconveniences and that you very much for your support.
  5. Hi Everyone, I'm pleased to announce that BrashMonkey has teamed up with a fantastic programmer who is taking over the programming of Spriter, as well as contributing greatly with new feature ideas etc. Here's a sneak peak video: One of the first ways Spriter users will benifit is that a whole new Spriter is being created from scratch. Anyone who purchases the Current Spriter Pro will receive a free upgrade to the new Spriter Pro when its ready, AND can take part in a closed beta testing of the news Spriter ASAP. I'll be updating this post in the next few days with sneak peak vids of the new Spriter and I'll also be sending an Email to all current Spriter Pro owners offering a chance to become one of the beta testers for the new Spriter. I also will be updating the Spriter web page at http://www.brashmonkey.com within the next week or so as well. stay tuned. :)
  6. Hi Noga and thanks very much for your support. Hold onto your serial, but for now it is indeed not needed. I recently updated Spriter Pro to no longer need your serial because a few of the Pro owners were having an issue where Spriter re-asked for the serial number every time they started it up. Because I couldn't duplicate the bug or fix it on any of my computers, and because a totally new version of Spriter is being developed (at very impressive speeds), it wasn't worth it for me to continue to try and fix the serial number issue with this current version. I too am very excited about support for both Construct classic and Construct 2. The Construct classic plug-in is nearly finished (a matter of a few weeks away I think).. after which, focus will be on finishing the all new Spriter and then making the Construct 2 plug-in. regards
  7. Hi trebor777 and welcome, sorry about the serial re-entering issue..you're the third customer to have this issue , but I've yet to solve this..I'm stil lworking on it. I have to admit, I never tried to load a folder with that many png's in Spriter, I'll give that a go and see if I can fix it. As far as features go, the highest priority is some basic tweening support, but this is definately not goin g to happen for at least several months. (I've got a day job that will take almost all of my time for the next two months...gotta pay the bills :( ) Right now what little availible time I have is going to optimizations and bug fixes for the teatures that already exist... I'm hoping to release a much more optimized Spriter with several bug fixes within a week or so. Stay tuned here,on Spriter's Facebook page and BrashMonkey's Youtube page for updates. thanks
  8. I'm pleased to announce Spriter Pro and Spriter Lite version 0.83 On top of general bug fixes and tweaks, theres a couple of new features that I think will help save a lot of time while workin on complex animations. 1) If you hold Shift while placing a new image into the frame, it will either: a) place the new image all the way beneath all the other images (lowest z-order)...This is if you have no other image selected before hand. b) place the new image in a specific z-order location relative to the other images... If you have image 7 selected before you place a new image with Shift held down, the new image will insert itself into the number 7 z-order spot! 2) Holding Shift while performing transforms like scale and rotate to multiple selected images will perform the transform to all the images x, y coordinates as well...this allows you to perform transforms to completed frames or assembled parts as though they are one cohesive part instead of individual pieces. please re-download Spriter Lite from http://www.brashmonkey.com and give it a try.
  9. Welcome Webbstre. :) I've actually just begun the creation of the first Spriter Game art pack, which will be a robust set of animations for a 2d game. This first pack will be for a side scrolling adventure game. Once its close to finished, I'll start distributing a few basic animation for free with Spriter. I'll also make some more in debth step by step videos for creating animations as soon as I can. Thanks much for the suggestions and support, BrashAdmin
  10. Welcome JB, And thank you very much for the kind words. I hope Spriter proves useful to you and your artists and look forward to feedback.
  11. Hi Everyone, Please post any questions or Issues you're having with Spriter so the answers can help anyone else who might have the same issue in the future. thanks much.
  12. Thanks for the suggestions everyone, @ Goldfish on rye, Soon Spriter will be able tio export finished animations as full frame sequential PNG's (with alpha)... Onion Skinning is a great suggestion that I might try to work into the pro version of Spriter once the critical features are all in. Pixel masking is also cool, but it's just too complicated and too much trouble as compared to just propper z-ordering and when absolutely necessary, creating a little "bandaid" image to overlay the problem area. This is too rare an issue for me to put in the huge time and effort to make a complicated feature that most people wouldn't bother learning or see the need for. By free rotation, I assume you mean with the mouse as opposed to by pressing the J and L keys to rotate a part? thanks for the great feedback and suggestions.
  13. Thanks for the kind words telles0808, I'm hoping a new version is only a mater of weeks away which will allow for saving out animations as full frame sequential images as well... this is obviously not the ultimate goal of Spriter, but it will allow artists to use Spriter to create 2d animations for games (or other media )that don't support fancy, optimized modular animation modes.... as well as tweaks, bug fixes and a few more features added. I can't guarantee how soon this update will be released, but I'll get it out as soon as I can.
  14. The .SPRTR files that spriter creates are actually just INI files. you can load them into any text editor like notepad to read them... you could also rename their extension to .INI so that you could load and manipulate them with any program that can manipulate INI files. If you do load a .SPRTR file into something like notepad you will find its quite easy to read and understand. I'm still trying to get good engineer(s) to help with the creation of plug-ins for GM and other game authoring systems so that they will support Spriters files in a very easy and intuitive fashion... I'll post information here ASAP when this happens.
  15. @telles0808, Would you be willing to send me one or more of these PNG files that dont load properly. I'm guessing whatever is creating your PNG files is creating them in a format that Spriter can't handle properly. Have you tried converting your PNG's (load them into a diferent image editor and then save them back out)? Whould you also mind telling me what created the PNG's that spriter can't load properly? Thanks much
  16. Thanks much for the bug report adrix89. I think I've got it taken care of.
  17. Hi TorQ, All of that sort of stuff related to "tweening" is planned for a sister version of Spriter that will be built from Spriter once this first version has all of its planned features in and is well debugged. It's at least a full month away before spriter 1.0 is close to feature complete, then there will be at least a few months of optimizing and debugging, and then yet more time after that before I start on this "tween based Spriter". At the absolute least for the "tweening version" there will be a timeline with keyframes, anchor/pivot points per sprite set by the user and of course automatic tweaning. It's a big question mark if I'll bother getting into the more sophisticated aspects like constraints... definately possible, but by no means gauranteed.
  18. Hi Inca, Your game is looking great and this is exactly the sort of thing that my tool was designed for. As you discovered on Scirra.com there is no extension yet for Construct to support Spriter, so it would be quite some work (but not impossible) to use the animation data exported from it. I'm still trying to get an actual extension programmer to help in that matter. Please help spread the word of this tool in general and on scirra.com so that there;s as much incentive as possible for this extension to be made. How much farther have you gone beyone this demo on your game? Because we are working on such similar game engines, we might want to team up and work on the same engine to use for both of our games... curently my engine has support for camera zooming, cinematic scenes, dialogue, and some combat... If you might be interested teaming up, please email me at mail@brashmonkey.com best regards
  19. PLEASE NOTE: This thread is old and was for the original Spriter. Info for the new Spriters Data format will begin in a new thread shortly. Hi everyone, For those looking for technical information on Spriters default file format, you can download it Here:http://www.brashmonkey.com/spriter/spriter_docs.zip I'll answer some of the critical Spriter Questions here: 1) Curently Spriter exports the data as a plain-english INI file. This is so anyone can make a small program to convert the easy to read data into whatever custom format they might want or need, BUT I do plan on making the tool export at least one XML format once I work it out with extension developers for popular game making engines. 2) Eventually I'll also add a feature to export your animations as full frame sequential images (although thats not really the point of the tool, its still very handy)
  20. Hi everyone. Please use this thread to post any suggestions you might have for features. cheers, Mike at BrashMonkey
