Why does my sprite "jump" move on canvas when assigning a bone?

I'm new to Spriter ( v6.1 , Windows 7 Pro 64bit ) and I have my sprites on screen and I place the bones, but once I assign a bone to a sprite, B key and click, the sprite "jumps" to another part of the screen.  When I try to move the sprite to where I want it, it always jumps back to its previous position.

I've not even started the animation part yet, still having issues getting the sprites rigged and position correctly??  What am I doing wrong?   I am at frame 0.

My guess is I am doing something wrong or have a setting wrong?
