ilimi
Hello! How can I reduce the file size .scml and .scon? File with 20 animations takes 1 megabyte on disk and file, .scon nearly 1.5 megabytes! When the number of animations will be 300, then they will occupy on disk for 30 megabytes with the file .scon or even more!
Mike at BrashMonkey
Hi ilimi, Edgar is always giving thought to ways to continue to improve Spriter's performance and memory foot-print, and a few things are in the works in that regard at the moment, but we cant guarantee how soon it will appear, or just how significant the improvement/savings will be for any particular project. In general though, currently the only way to keep the Spriter file-size as low as possible is to keep the number of key-frames and objects per frame as low as possible. Also, obviously while the Spriter file itself will take some memory, even an enormous Spriter file will save DRASTICALLY due to the fact that it represents what would otherwise require near infinite full frame images if you were using traditional sprites... in other words, the bigger your Spriter file, the more likely you are SAVING compared to full image-frame sprites...especially when dealing with large, high-res animations....because the Spriter file is representing numerous full frame images at a fraction of the image cost. cheers, Mike at BrashMonkey
