How to add bones to existing animation?

Say you have existing animation, but it's all sprite animated, no bones used. How to add bones for controlling that existing animation?

The reason I am asking is that I want to copy/paste limbs, but in the tutorials I have seen you have to attach the limb sprites to bones (and then copy/paste to all frames)

Edit: While I'm at it, how do you copy the animation from different entities over to other entities? I want to attach an arm from one entity to another (note: they use different sprites). I already have the different entities with their own animations in one same spriter project

Thanks in advance :)

There's no way to add bones to limbs of characters already fully animated via sprites. (other than completely redoing your animation with bones)

You can copy anything to all frames, not just bones.  no bones are required. Just select the object, press CNTRL+C, then press CNTRL+SHIFT+V and it will copy it to all frames.

Do you want to copy entire animations or just the arm? If it's just the arm, then just select the arm from one entity by clicking on it in the canvas, then go to the animation in the other entity and paste it in.  If you really need to copy an animation from one entity to another, try cloning the animation in the same animation then left click and drag the animation (by its name in the animation palette) down into the other entity and let me know if it works or not.
