Please help me.  I want to reserve a copy of Spriter 2.

Q1. Am I just wondering shall I get a free copy of Spriter 2 If I purchase Spirter Pro on Steam and that to the ONLY BASE variant of Spriter Pro (Without any DLC)?

Q2. Is there is any difference b/w Steam version and Brashmonkey.com? I mean Does this "https://brashmonkey.com/forum/index.php?/store/product/30-spriter-2-pre-order/" variant contains all the DLC of Spirter Pro Which You buy separately on Steam?

Q3. On Steam I saw that the last DEPOTS UPDATE of Spirter Pro was on 20 December 2018 (522 days ago) Does that mean the Steam variant get updates slower than regular Brashmonkey.com variant?

Q4. If I preorder Spriter 2 at  https://brashmonkey.com/forum/index.php?/store/product/30-spriter-2-pre-order/ Is there any chance that I will get the Steam Key?

    1) Yes, if you buy Spriter Pro on Steam you will receive Spriter 2 automatically on Steam once it's released.

    2) The products and programs are the same except the Steam version Spriter Pro requires you be logged into your Steam account in order to use it.

    3) There have been no update builds of Spriter Pro since then becasue we have switched development to Spriter 2, which is making good progress but had suffered many delays for various reasons.

    4) I'm not sure yet. I'll discuss this with Edgar and our contacts at Valve.

What is Alchemist? How much does alchemist cost?

It will be a suite of extension features available for purchase which will greatly expand Spriter 2 with very advanced features including many procedural functions. For the most part, Alchemist features won't begin to appear until all the core features of Spriter 2 are rock solid and those who pre-ordered it have been using it for actual projects.

  3. We need more information. We'd need to see your export settings and we need to know if the animation looks correct when you play it within Spriter. If it does, the it's almost certainly a badly set export option. You might need to record you screen so we can see everything that's happening to figure out the problem.

In my game i have several char maps.
and i need to action points to the diferent maps since they are in diferent positions.
    How to do that?

Hi, there;s no direct way to do that, but you could easily add all the points you need, and prefix their name with the name of the character map, and use a formula in your actions to do things like: "create object at Spriter point string value=CHARMAPNAME&"shooter" "

  5. If you only reduced the images in Photoshop then they would all be far away from each other and no longer connected how you want in the Spriter project.

The process Spriter does will create a clone of the entire project, including scaled versions of all the images, and it will scale down all the positional data in the new Spriter project to work with the smaller images.  If you don't like the scaling quality of the reduced image, you can re-copy the original sized image into the new scaled down clone Spriter project, and then shrink them to the same size (such as 30 percent or whatever you chose while creating the scaled copy of the Spriter project) using Photoshop or any other program you choose.

  6. There is a red outline around the sprite sheet preview because the image size settings are not beg enough to support all the images. It likely won't let you save until you resolve that by enlarging the texture size to allow everything to fit, but that's likely the least of the problems...
Those images are massive. Most likely you don't need them to be that big. You might be desperate to try the 'draw-self' mode for the Spriter object in Construct because you are forcing it to deal needlessly massive textures. I highly recommend before you export your Spriter project to export it for Construct you use the "File/Other file actions/save as resized" option  to create a scaled down clone of your Spriter project, scaled down to the actual size you need in the game, then export that scaled down clone to import and use in Construct.

That particular Spriter file was designed for people to use to customize their ship in Spriter, and then export the finished ship as sequential image or GIF animations to use in their game engine... the combination of giant images and all the image variants for the character maps is very un-optimized for actual game-play if you try to use it directly.

  7. Are you accidentally choosing the Texture Packer option which is right below it in the menu? You do not want to use the Texture Packer option, you want to use the option above it.

The version of Spriter in the video and the version you have are both R11, and it's the version I use. It has the features exactly as shown in the video. If the feature is missing then go to help in the menu and see if 'activate Spriter pro' is an option... maybe somehow it got deactivated. If that doesn't work, please record your screen and post a video of the missing feature so we can see what's going on.

  8. The loop toggle icon tells the Spriter file if the animation is supposed to be looping or only play once in the game engine, it's not for the editor. If you want to play the animation once with no looping in the editor, yo right click the play button instead of left-click.

I have r5 on one computer and r11 on other, and yes i do have pro.
as i said i desperaly need the performance export for construct 3.

I'm hoping I can help you quickly,  but the more clearly and specifically you answer my questions and requests the faster I'll be able to figure out what's going on. Can you to provide a screen recording or screen grab image showing the missing feature?

Are you following a specific tutorial video or documentation, and if so, can you link to it?

There has been no new build that removed the feature. It should be in the menu under "File/Generate sprite sheet for project images." It's not a matter of whether you 'have' pro, it's a matter of if you've unlocked the pro features on that particular install.

Sorry for late response, I can only post once a day. This is what the documentation leads to on my screen:
EDIT: I've just noticed that the same issue popped up in the Construct 2 topic. Is there a similar DropBox link for the Construct 3 documentation? Is the C2 documentation close enough that I can just use that instead?

I've expanded daily post allowance to 4.

I don't see any dropbox link in the thread that you can't reach. Have you tried a different browser? I can see no reason in our system why it would be restricting your access, and no-one else has reported this issue.

Importing into Construct 3 is very different:

Does this link work for you? https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=brashmonkey+Spriter+construct+3

My question is, I got Spriter in Steam, and I don't know if I can get Spriter 2 for free, when it is release.

Yes, you will get Spriter 2 on Steam automatically and for free if you own Spriter on Steam. We can't estimate when it will reach version 1.0 and be officially released. Stay tuned on our forums here for updates and new alpha build should become available for testing and feedback purposes soon.

  12. Sorry for the late reply.

    1) Unfortunately while it easy to add more space to the end of an animation or to stretch out an entire animation proportionally, there's no automated way to add room between any two key frames other than dragging the key frames on the timeline to change their relative positions on the time line. You can hold shift while left clicking the key frame to multi-select at least.

    2) Not that I know of, sorry.. there should be, but I still have not been able to develop the habit of logging into Discord on a regular basis and learning how to use it, let alone maintain yet another social media/communications platform on top of our forums, facebook, twitter, Steam forums, Youtube, emails, and other game engine specific forum threads dedicated to Spriter runtimes.

  13. Sorry for the delayed reply. In the future, be sure to mention Construct in the title of the post so all Construct users who might have the answer know they can be helpful.

I've never used override, but I'll bring this post to Edgar's attention and hopefully he can provide useful info.

  14. Can you make a screen recording of what you're doing and the results? This might be the only way for us to figure out exactly whats going wrong for you. It almost sounds like you're somehow trying to edit an animation key frame where the images were never assigned to their respective bones in the first place, but I really don't think the art pack includes such a non-rigged frame.

  15. Sorry for the delayed reply. We're glad you're finally getting use of Spriter and are now finding it easy to understand and learn. Unfortunately it really was not designed for creating entire scenes or long animations, so I'm not surprised its not doing great with long sound samples.. My best guess was the huge delay when you dragged in a 4 minute song was an optimized routine trying to analyze the entire song and draw out the sound waves in the timeline.

It's taking way longer than we had hoped, but once Spriter 2 (which you and all Spriter Pro owners will get for free) is usable it will be much more capable  in general but also for animating entire long animations or sequences and scenes.

  16. It's just vertically squishing the wing images and then using Spriter's image swap feature to switch the image to show either the top or bottom of the wing at the moment the wing becomes pixel thin at the half way point.

if you watch the first 6 minutes of this video you should know what you need to know:

  17. The game engine you use might support mirroring the Spriter object (such as the Construct or Unity or Fusion run-time), otherwise, if you need to create a flipped copy of all animations in Spriter, just click the icon with three dots and choose to create a clone of the selected animation and set the X scale to -1.0 instead of 1.0
