Bang bang!

Thanks
Change sprites through pivot. Spriter Pro works well with that. I had to drawn frame a frame the tongue.
Share more. Feel free to comment or ask
Thanks for the tip, also are you drawing these yourself? I love the style! Another question, are you actually animating facing left?! My mind locks up if I try that, I always animate facing right :-P

hi aiat_gamer,
Is the mouse pointer making it down into the timeline? It looks like the scrolling only happens when your mouse pointer gets close to or over it (bottom left of the canvas)
Also, I can't reproduce this on my windows 10 machine. Can you tell me which OS you're running Spriter on and if you are using a specialized input device like Wacom tablet, trackpad etc. ?
thanks.
No not really, here is another test, as you see the mouse does not come close to the timeline:
As you can see the timeline moves to the left whenever the selection rectangle touches the sprite parts. I am using win 7 64 bit and a normal mouse.

Hi fetito666,
While we can't promise how soon full Spriter support will appear for Game Maker Studio, we can say it's a high priority... in roughly 2.5 weeks we'll be releasing our fully featured reference implementation in C++. This should make it very fast for any strong developer to port full Spriter support to any other language or authoring system, and we'll be doing everything we can to help make sure it does get ported for Game Maker Studio ASAP.
How soon it happens (after 2.5 weeks from now, once the reference implementation is finished) will depend entirely on which developer/programmer happens to collaborate with us to create it, and how quickly they can get it done. Work wise it should literally be possible in a matter of days (after the reference implementation is released) but as I said, we won't know the exact time scale until its happening.
cheers.
Cant you ask the Game Maker guys to help you with it? I think they would be happy too!

we're finally starting to resolve the issues that were causing the hold-up. More information will come upon release of the official reference implementation in less than 3 weeks.
Cheers.
 , Sweeeeeeet! Holly crap I have not been hyped for anything this much! Hope everything goes well!

Hello!
I am planning on buying Spriter on Steam so that I can use it in GameMaker. How far does the integration between both programs work?
As far as exporting animations as simple PNG images or sprite-sheets. There is really not any deep support for GM yet.
-
My problem is that objects tend to crash Spriter, so having animation with 20 objects is pretty impossible.
I have a character which the tail section alone is 15 sections, you might be encountering a bug or something.
-
I can't figure out how to have more than two bones work with an mesh object. I want to have 4 or 5 bones working with a tail object, but the mesh ability only seems to work with two bones, and won't append to any bones past the second one.
Are two bones the limitation of mesh objects?
The mesh option is very buggy and does not work that well, it is being reworked as far as I know and will be different.
-
However, right clicking on the new image while the animation image is selected doesn't offer me the "replace sprite" option (it does give me the option for a single PNG image file). Am I doing something wrong?
What do you mean by this?

Update:
It seems that because I have the free version, I can't anchor with IK (unless I am mistaken, which is likely haha) But I will keep messing around to improve. Don't worry about being too critical! This is my first time ever doing this stuff so all the criticism is needed =)
As long as it's more than "Ayy your sprite sucks lmao" I'm good. Cheers!
Yeah that is true I am afraid...but you can design around it. go back and forth between two frames and try to position the feet on the correct location.

Check out the character map tutorial. That lets you change the skins for an animation.
-
I am not sure what you are asking, can you post an example?
-
Here are some more that I did a few days ago. The third one is my attempt at a better idle animation. Of course, I am still in the rough stages and any feedback is most appreciated. I am loving this program btw. I plan on getting Pro once I save the dinero.
Good efforts, some suggestions:
Your character seems to be jumping around (his legs are not on the ground at all times) especially for the middle pose. I suggest you lock the feet down to the ground using IK. I can understand what you are going for, small hops on both feet, but without the legs bending a bit it looks weird. If you are doing the same pose you would need to bend your knees a bit, do the hop and land, rinse and repeat.
The same goes for your first kick animation, the right feet needs to stay in place during the kick and not move. Also, move the head a bit less, right now it looks like a bubble head!
Sorry for being so critical!

I really like these dude :D do more!!!
Haha, I have a problem with coming up with what to draw, I need someone to tell me :D.

original post edited with 9/20 update
I am too dumb to understand what does test bed, iterators and others mean! Which one is related to free form deformation if any?
-
Oh. right, sorry I misunderstood. Unfortunately at the moment you can't shift z order of multiple objects at a time, and would also have to fix the z-order in one frame and then use the copy z-order to other frames option for each animation.
We'll be sure to add these features in a future update build, but we cant say how soon that will be.
Ok, thanks! Yes that would be a useful feature to have ;)
-
There's an option "copy Z-order to all frames". Fix the z-order on any frame, then while on that frame, then choose "Edit/Copy Z-Order to Other Frames"
cheers.
Hi Mike, Thanks for the answer. Yes I already know about this. I guess I was not clear:
I have quite a few animations: Walk, run, hit, jump...I know I can copy the Z order to other frames, that is no problem. I am talking about the first time I paste the tail to the first frame of each animation. All 26 sections will be placed over the top and I need to move them one by one to bottom. This is what I mean:
Is this video where you make the tail, next part all of the tail sections are placed behind the character, did you move them one by one?
-
I have a tail that is made op from about 25 pieces, I want to add them to few already made animations. The problem is that every time I paste the tail to an animation, it is placed on top of everything. I have to choose each section one by one and move them to the back, is there any way I can change the Z order of more than one sprite at a time? I tried selecting on the Z-order section by holding control, then choosing the move to bottom in Z order but it did not work. Do I have to go over them one by one every time?!

I like Spriter, but I'm looking for a program that has great mesh deformation aspects.
Anyone have a list of cheap to expensive sprite manipulation programs that allow me to deform?
I saw a few, like Spine, but are there any others not 300 bucks? Or is Spriter the best I'll get for it's price?
Not really, at least I don`t know any that supports bones and FFD. When Spriter finally has this, I think it will blow Spine out of the water.
I don`t want to be rude or anything, but to me it is weird that Spine has had this since 2014 and Spriter still does not, even though they put up the KS campaign earlier than Spine. To me this is the mian thing that is holding Spriter back...

Spriter keeps crashing everytime i try to export my animation to seperate numbered image files, im using the most updated version and im using 32 bit because that it what my computer is, please help! Thanks
Chances are your PC is too weak to handle it, that is more likely since it is a 32 bit computer. Try reducing the frames or size.
-
it's OK
So is there a chance I can download the beta version with skin mode? version 0.599991 if I remember right (even it's has bugs)
I saw bwwd's work and really want to try it too ^.^
It should be already in the software.

Awesome models, I love that weird chicken transformation :D

There is a semi-tutorial on it, but to be honest I hate using it...it is very buggy and frustrating to use right now. Cant wait for the actual thin to come out though!
