Unfortunately yes, I did.

I have followed and installed the two 2013 redistributables, and it hasn't helped.
I uninstalled spriter, and uninstalled all of the visual C++ redistributables that were on my system, installed just the x86  2013 version and installed spriter.   No luck.
Uninstalled spriter, installed the x64 redistribution.
Installed spriter.  No luck.

I have win7 64 bit
16 GB memory,
4GB Gforce 740
AMD 8320 CPU

If you're using the Steam version of Spriter, try this:
If none of this works, please right click on Spriter Pro in Steam, click on properties, go to the 'local files' tab, and 'browse local files...', then navigate to: Spriter\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010 and install (run) both exe's.

If you're using the non-Steam version, please try this:

Well I worked my way down the list of msvcp100 fixes and I arrived at the bottom where it suggest I install windows afresh, and yet there's no actual mention of msvcp100 as the problem.  So I installed it as presented there and Spriter still doesn't work, stopping short of a new windows install.

Yeah, reinstalling windows should definitely not be necessary. Let's avoid that.

I just noticed in the error message you posted that it mentions wintab.. I think this has to do with tablets... There are other known cases, mostly from the past were some specific tablet drivers (like some specific variants of wacom drivers) would cause crashes.

Could you please try disconnecting a tablet if you use one and temporarily disable or uninstall the driver, just so we can verify that is the cause?

Thanks.

I just got it working! I downloaded 32bit and 64bit vcredist files for visual studio 2010 also and installed them and now it seems to be working.

Thanks for the update. We're learning this in the last few days. Apparently some systems are lacking DLL's from both 2010 and 2013. We're updating our webpage and troubleshooting FAQ etc. accordingly.

Very glad you got it working. cheers.

Well, that was it.  I uninstalled the tablet driver without the tablet being plugged in and spriter starts without a single problem.

I'm glad we figured out at least the compatibility issue. Obviously we don't consider disabling your tablet a valid solution, but at least now we have a place to start in actually resolving the issue, and at least for now, until the problem is actually resolved, you can get Spriter working when you need it.

Spriter is developed using QT, and there's unfortunately been a bit of a history with Wacom frequently releasing new drivers which causes such problems with apps developed using QT. Worst case scenario. we might only be able to make sure its a known issue by the QT developers and wait for them to resolve it in a QT update. Hopefully Wacom and QT will work better together in the future to avoid these unnecessary problems for developers and end-users alike.

thanks for your patience.

I hope it can be worked around as it's really inconvenient to have to uninstall and then re-install.  The thing is, also, that I don't have a Wacom tablet. I have a different one that is Wacom compatible in programs.  So it works if the program is set to work with Wacom tablets. So I wonder if it's generally, for all tablets that artists use.

Agreed. It might be possible you only need to unplug the tablet or there might be a way to just disable the driver quickly without uninstalling it. No matter what, this clearly is not a "solution", just a way to use Spriter as needed while a real solution is being found.  It would also likely be a great help if you could tell us the exact brand and model number of tablet you're using.

Thanks.
