Farah Ghn
Hi, I don't want to use scale coz scale deforms, a stretch feature would retain the subject's shape only stretch it - say a hand or a leg, I hope this is available in sportier I'm new. Mike at BrashMonkey
Hi Farah Ghn, The trick is to make sure the images themselves are at a straight angle. If your image drawn diagonally across the screen, then stretching it will deform /distort it, if the ilage is going straight across, then when you stretch it it won't distort. Please watch this video: (the first 5 or so minutes is key.)
germanmolto
Yeah. Any chances that Spriter 2 will make them stretch along with the angle of the bone?
Mike at BrashMonkey
Spriter 2 will have full deforming features so it could be set up to stretch specifically in the direction of the parent bone (via control of vertices). But keep in mind, such functionality comes with a price. This is part of why currently Spriter animation playback has been shown to outperform animation formats where all images are deforming. Also not all game engines can support mesh deforming of images. Spriter (the current one) can give you what you seem to be after if you produce the images in the appropriate manner. (non diagonal). In other words, if you need basic stretching along the direction of the bone, and the fastest possible FPS, especially on mobile platforms etc, it's likely better to take the time to make your images non-diagonal before animating and use Spriter as opposed to using another program which allows you to distort each image regardless of their actual angle in the image, but at the cost of performance.
