fetito666
Hello! I have a n00b question: I just did the "Skeletton"-tutorial in GameMaker that teaches you how to use skeleton-animations from Spine. All you need is importing the JSON-file as a sprite. Does the same work with Spriter-files if I import the JSON-file created with Spriter? *blush*
Mike at BrashMonkey
No, Json is just a general form of text file (syntax style) for use for any kind of data in general. A Spriter Json file would be completely incompatible with a plug-in made to load Json files from Spine. For now to use Spriter animations in GMS, you'd need to export the animations from Spriter as sequential full frame images or sprite sheets, then import them into GMS to use as standard GMS sprites. We're hoping to work with the developers of GMS to add full Spriter support to GMS, but it would seem at the moment they are too occupied with getting the new GMS version ready for release. cheers. -Mike at BrashMonkey
Your Favorite Lullaby
I've been saving my separate character animation's as GIF's to use in GMS for now until more implementation is added. Seems to work fine for now. Not sure if this helps ya or not but they always say... work done today's better than work done tomorrow
