Replacing placeholder sprites

I have created an animation sequence with the skeleton and placeholder sprites that I wish to change.  However, I'm having a difficult time finding an easy way to change the template sprites I assigned to the bones.  Do I have to delete and re-add sprites key-frame by key-frame?  I know I can add bones and sprites to all key-frames by using ctrl+shift but replacing the sprites seems much more difficult or much less intuitive.

Can anyone help?

If you simply edit an image that was already in use by Spriter, you simply have to click the refresh button in Spriter and it will reload all the images, so the changes will become visible, This is not to replace one image file with another, but to simply update ones you just edited in a program like Krita, Photoshop etc.
