DanaLovesVidya
Hello. I made an animation in Spriter Pro, but when I try to export it to a GIF, Spriter crashes before the gif is made. Attempting to export to a sprite sheet goes through the motions, but the png is never there in the end. Is this a known issue? Mike at BrashMonkey
Hi DanaLovesVidya, Sorry to hear you're running into this issue. It is indeed known, and so far every case has been when a user is basically trying to export an animation which has a combined resolution/size and frame count too high for Spriter to manage on their particular computer. Odds are you're running out of memory part way through. Ideally this wouldn't happen and we'll be working on improving the export features in future free updates..but that could be a way off. Could you please let us know what the final frame dimensions would be, how long the animation is, and what you have the FPS set to for export? Right now, the only known solution is to reduce the FPS of your export, or reduce the scale of your project or export scale so that you don't run out of memory mid way through. Working on a system with more graphics memory and ram also might allow you to export at the desired res and FPS until we can improve the export's ability to work with virtual ram etc.I know it would be time consuming and "hacky", but if need be, you could also split up your animation into shorter segments to avoid running out of memory while exporting each small segment.Fixing this issue is high on the list of things to look into while making the next update build. cheers.
