mobileben
Not sure if anyone else has run into this. I try and search forums to see if the questions have already been posted. But the search here isn't stellar in that the requirements make it hard to find things. For example, the app crashes quite a bit for me on the Mac. So I wanted to search for "mac crash" But I can't search this based on the criteria. So in many cases, search becomes a weakened feature on this forum. Pfaeff
Yeah, it looks like the forum search is pretty much unusable at the moment.
Trumgottist
You can search the forum better by using Google. Just add site:brashmonkey.com to your search query.
lucid
I know this is an old topic, but for a while I was too focused on playing catchup to do much foruming. I've had the same problem with the search. I'll see what we can do within the confines of phpbb (our messageboard software). If there's nothing built in that can help us resolve that, we might be stuck with the problem for the time being until we can expand our staff to include a qualified webmaster. Neither Mike nor I have achieved mastery of the web.
lucid
ok. it seems there is a simple way to increases the 'word is too common' threshhold after changing this setting it's takes anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to reindex everything, so I'll check back in a few hours and see how search is doing, and increase the threshhold again, until searches for 'mac crash', 'unity', and 'bones' actually work [update]indexing complete, all 3 of those work now[/update] thanks for bringing this to our attention
