  1. Hi. Right now i'm using the open-source version of texture packer for libgdx that's on github, but I can't import the sprite and atlas that it made into Spriter (it doesn't recognize that it is an atlas). Also, buying texture packer pro or spriter pro is out of the question. Thanks!

Hi guys, I'm trying to export a project from construct 2 by using nw.js. but their is a problem that I found is that when I launch the nw.js application that has been created after exporting, nothing is launched. so I've delete every scml from my project and i've exported again and that works. this problem with spriter plugin it's only apears after exporting. Because on the preview on construct2, I can launch my project on chrome, firefox, nw.js preview, etc... that works. I'have the last version of the plugin that has been released on december.

  4. Hi everybody, I'm a programmer and actually I'm starting a RPG inspired in Harry Potter world. The concept is very similar to the book saga, but names, story and all the stuffs have been changed to be an original game. The project is just beginning and I'm need an original sprite art for the game. The sprite and concept style is similar to Rpg Maker engine (maps and character dimensions, technically speaking), but obviously I'd like something original. What do I need? Sprites of characters.   5. Hello, My Problem is that I imported two Spriter Projects to C2 and one isn't working at all. It can't be shown, if manually turned visible, no Animation is shown ect. I have got another Sprite in my Project that is working fine. I did everything the same way as with the first object. On Start --- Create Object Sprite 1 on Layer 0 at 0 0 Create Object Sprite 2 on Layer 0 at 0 0 Sprite 1 on initialised ... Sprite 2 on initialised... Every Tick Set Position of Sprite 1 to PlayerDummy Set Position of Sprite 2 to EnemyDummy I just added the Second Sprite under the first one. Did I do anything wrong? By creating everything new it is working with all sprites :/ but not in the main project

  7. I've just release an Alpha version of my new Williams Defender style game. Wool is the Fuel. I previous had another game called that written in XNA, this one is in Unity and I've used Spriter to create the animations. The backgrounds are from the recent Delta Essentials and I've used explosions from the GameEffectsPack Essentials Animations small.mp4

    Topper Goat

    Howdy from Austin Texas! I'm a student from St. Edward's University, trying to make a game about Topper Goat, the school mascot. You can read all about it at https://www.gofundme.com/toppergoat. I've been using Spriter, since it's free, easy to use, and allows for rapid iterating/prototyping. I exported the animations as spritesheets to Unreal Engine and so far everything works great! ANYWAY, I thought I'd share some of my animations with you fine folks. Sorry the quality is a little off (they're gifs I uploaded to YouTube). I'll be sure to post some gameplay videos once a game prototype is up and running. Until then you can follow @TopperGoatGame on Twitter . Any comments are appreciated!

  10. Black boxes keep appearing in the animation area ins tead of my png files, i was wondering if this has to do with some limitation I don't know about or if its a bug, i have the pro version.
  11. Hi, I am pretty sure this has been asked/requested or questioned before. I am wondering if there is a dedicated plugin available for Unreal Engine 4 to use Spriter within the engine. I have checked and saw that a user of Spriter started making a plugin but then stopped due to lack of interest. I was wondering rather than a community made plugin if there was something you guys are developing for this that would eventually make it on to the Unreal Engine Marketplace?

  14. I need an experienced Spriter animator (paid of course) to create some walk cycle and fighting animations for some characters with existing photographic art. It is for the sequel to this game: http://elev8games.com/index.php/games-menu/lost-in-paradise As mentioned, the art for these characters already exists, and I have already split up into body parts (these can be refined if needed), just need an experienced animator to do a walk cycle for each, as well as some fighting animations (slash, parry, dodge etc.) There are also a lot of existing animations that have already been done for the main character (can be seen in the video above) that need to be polished or redone. They're mostly walk cycles in 5 directions and collect animations, as can be seen in the trailer video linked above. These were done by myself without any previous animation experience, and while they probably aren't terrible they could definitely use professional polish. In addition to this there could be a lot more work in the future and a long term collaboration. Please message or reply if interested, thanks

I absolutely loved how simple and easy spriter was to start up and get rigging. 1 little point that's annoying is the hierarchy tree re-loads on every action, very annoying trying to add bones then having to scroll down to the bottom of a long list to assigning them all, each time scrolling. However i have a major issue that is preventing me from buying the full version, spriter just removed some of my images from a saved file, they are technically still there i can see them in the hierarchy view, but the bones and sprites don't display. It also didn't export them when i put them into unity so i lost a days work. Blender is a pain in the proverbial, but i need something that's robust, is this a problem that happens alot? is there a workaround? Any help would be appreciated.
  16. RPG Maker are releasing videos about their new engine, RPG maker MV, on their youtube channel. In their most recent video they mention that their engine will read json files and even goes as far as to mention Spriter Pro itself. https://youtu.be/NKKBNpZQo2U?t=103 (at about 1:40) Does anyone have any information or plans about using Spriter in RPG Maker MV? I've used Spriter to make games in the past, and would absolutely love to use this to it's full potential within the new engine!
  17. Greetings I’d like to use this post to show you guys a Horror game me and my pal have been working on. We always liked the horror genre, speacilly the Silent Hill releases of old, which were able to create really dense and disturbing environments. There have been lots of horror games lately, however we rarely find a game that actually makes you think about what’s going on and make you invested (dinosaurs zombies aren’t that scary) With that in mind, we drafted some ideas and started to make some prototypes. In the end, we thought it would be cool if we mixed horror stuff, some platform elements, puzzles and a lot of exploration - kind of an unusual combination. We're using Construct 2 and Spriter. I'd say 95% to 100% of the artwork is already made (which includes decorations, characters and many monsters, all animated... Took an year of hard work to get it done). The levels are still on the making, and we're still struggling to make the audio part, but we'll get there Anyway, as they say, a picture is more worth than words, or something like that, so I should show some in-game shots: Here is our “hero” in the spotlight. Yes, he’s a child. Don’t expect mercy in this world. We’re trying to make dark, dirty and claustrophobic places. Objects will have shadow effects in real time, but this wasn’t properly implemented yet. Yeah, you will be able to push and drag boxes… and yeah, you will use them to press buttons. Hideous creatures await you, and your little lantern toy can reveal your presence, so being stealthy sometimes is the best option… but combat is also a viable solution. So, that’s it for now. Hi, I am happy to announce the first release of a new spriter runtime for Haxe (https://github.com/wighawag/spriter , haxelib : http://lib.haxe.org/p/spriter/ ) It is originaly based on the great work of @Loodakrawa for its c# implementation. I optimized it for Haxe and got rid of allocation (so no gc at all while spriter entity is animating!) This does not use pool neither. The runtime itself contain no rendering code and there is currently only one library that do the rendering : https://github.com/wighawag/spriterkha This for Kha : http://kha.tech/ an awesome low level cross platform api. You can find a test project here : https://github.com/wighawag/spriter_test The api is still not complete and it is not yet a 1.0.0 release and I would be interested in feedback Since Haxe can output to different languages, this could be used as a library for any such language as well. Let me know if you need help for that. My implementation has been tested on js and cpp only but should work on all target. The library is unit tested with data from the c# implementation so it should behave in the exact same way The "no allocation" claim is also unit tested (for the cpp target) Hope someone find it useful. We're looking for someone to help us with two tasks: the first one, a priority, is creating additional animations we need for little over a week from now - there's not a lot of them, but they need to be created for a specific deadline. The second job would be about working with us on a month-by-month basis, working with our artist to create character-specific animations for the characters that will be created for the game.   21. Hi! I was wondering if there is a way to use spriter without steam. I bought it a month ago but I need the coder to get used with it while I'm working with the assets dan animations. The thing is we can't, because steam doesn't allow us to have spriter open in both computers.

I'm just starting with Spriter and I was wondering if there is something I have to be especially cautious while animating a character for an Unity project: Folders depth, Character Maps (although I know it is not supported yet), sprite swapping, sprite names, pivots, image size, etc... Those things are particulary important but If anything comes to mind just adress it. Thank you very much!

  24. Hello! I have a n00b question: I just did the "Skeletton"-tutorial in GameMaker that teaches you how to use skeleton-animations from Spine. All you need is importing the JSON-file as a sprite. Does the same work with Spriter-files if I import the JSON-file created with Spriter? *blush*
  25. Hello all, I have been doing non-animation related art of late and coming back to it in the new year I saw that they updated Spriter. Awesome! The problem is the link that spriter gives me, with the updated website, no longer functions, so I can't update it. Does someone have the new link, or another way for me to update it?
