Tvuxafei reacted to bwwd in Great algorithm for rotating pixel art & sprites
Hey guys what if spriter would have rotating algorithm like this software?
http://info.sonicretro.org/RotSprite
Do you think it could be done? It preserves shapes perfectly, maybe if you would contact developer then he would share how he did it and it could be implemented in spriter so pixel art animating would be even better.
Just look at examples:
This is other program SolarStrings rotater which also rotates sprites preserving details and shapes + whats most important - source code is available for lookup and maybe create something similar

In my opinion having something like solarstrings rotater as option to rotate sprites would be great, even if its not used in realtime during opengl preview but only when exporting.

Tvuxafei reacted to joekinley in Linux 64 Gif export crash
I have Spriter B11 (latest files downloaded today) and when I want to export an animated Gif it just crashes.
This is the output:
QMetaObject::connectSlotsByName: No matching signal for on_setBoxToAnimationCancelled()
QMetaObject::connectSlotsByName: No matching signal for on_keyFrame_edittingFinished()
QPainter::begin: Paint device returned engine == 0, type: 3

exceptions from an event handler is not supported in Qt. You must
reimplement QApplication::notify() and catch all exceptions there.

Tvuxafei reacted to Mike at BrashMonkey in Another game using Spriter and art packs!
As many of you may recall from a previous update post, I'm helping game artist Renita Orellana to finish her platformer game. The game is not a BrashMonkey product, but it does tie in with the creation of our first two fully animated game art packs by the fact that we're letting Renita use them as we develop them, so we thought the Spriter community might find it interesting.
Renita has created a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the games completion. You can find out more by visiting the official Kickstarter page here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/renitao/hyper-segtendio-siblings?ref=live
The game is not ours, and contributing to it will not directly support BrashMonkey or Spriter, but a successful Kickstarter campaign would ensure a great third party environment art pack (by Renita) and a very fun (and casual gamer friendly) game. I'll also be using the opportunity to create several “behind the scenes†tutorial videos for aspiring game artists.
For those who don't know, I'd already begun creating some tutorial vids which can be seen here:
