  3. It works then doesnt work, now it works since about hour without error, i cleared cache a couple hours ago and had problem with permission later anyway. Probably will stop working after i post this , sometimes stops working when i press "post"

  5. New forum is terrible, randomly says "Sorry, you don't have permission for that!" And that i dont have rights visiting this forum and some error 2000 So i cant see forums , now its working but i have to type fast cause it wont work soon again, please fix this permissions issue. Its like that since week or so, i thouight its server issue but looks like its this new forum fault.

I have some suggestions that would help during working with spriter, some not related to skins are not big but would help to avoid mistakes... - When you are on keyframe and hit play button then animation plays and when you stop it then you will stop on currently played frame, this should be prohibited, it should go back to keyframe that was displayed before you hit plauy button, i caught myself adding keyframes in bad places becaues of this, its waste of time to playback animation and switch back to keyframe which was edited before play button was hit. - next one is for skins, it would be great to "reset" them to their first non modified form using some kind of shortcut, so rotation and deformation etc would be reset when you need it, sometimes you can deform it so much and it takes time to go back to its original shape, so it would save a lot of time if we would have reset button . Rotation tools for skins also would be very nice, not necessary the same ones that we use for sprites but at least something so we could rotate them without need to use bones. - ability to select then move around multiple skins by selecting a couple of them at once , currently you can move only one skin at a time , i know you can make this possible if you have skins assigned to bones but it should not be requirement to have bones, im not using bones and its pefrectly possible to move around regular sprites without bones, should be possible to do it with skins. It would really save some time, its hard to move complicated characters and maintain perfectly each skin placement. - Ability to go to skin deformation mode with multiple skins at once, so currently you can only go to it when pressing twice mouse button on some skin point, but i wish we could select a couple of skins and then if we press twice on point then we can modify and deform those selected multiple skins at once , this would help a lot and speed up some time , maybe it would even make previous request obsolete because we could move skins together around in deformation mode, it would definitely suffice. It would also be better if points would have different colours when working with multiple skins at once. - In my opinion by default it should paste to all keyframes when importing new bodypart, it should be default simply because it scares newcomers off, just think when you create animation and you think it came out nice then want to add somethjing then its visible only on first keyframe but not on oher ones and youre thinking OH NO! This is strange ! Its just plain weird, default behaviour should be swapped so to paste only on one keyframe we should hold some key like ctrl or something, it should not paste only on one keyframe by default, simple things like this scared me when i first started working with spriter.This is very counter intuitive right now and shouldnt be too hard to swap default behaviour ? I know its ver easy to just use "copy selection to all keyframes" but how about making it default so it wont confuse anyone ? And if someone wants to import png only on one keyframe then just have to hold ctrl or shift, alt. I guess it would be good idea to let total newcomers test spriter and listen to their first reaction , then you know whats counter intuitive. - "Mode" could be scrapped and pixel art mode + smooth sampling should be simply moved to view menu because they're kinda on subject

  10. :D Great now skins dont crash, It would be nice if we could select all of them or some of the skins using shift and move them around together like regular sprites, but thats just for convenience, thanks for the fix i really appreciate this a lot ! :mrgreen: I did had some small problems like when i tried to disable opengl and when spriter restarted then it closed itself on start without letting me do anything, and i couldnt really turn opengl back on :) so i had to remove everything using regedit and install spriter again and activate, it just wouldnt let me do anythiung - crashed when started, i think in situations like this something like spriter.cfg would be nice so we could edit this cfg file to turn on/off some stuff when something goes wrong because i couldnt really do anything, spriter wouldnt let me change opengl back on.Im on WinXP with graphics card geforce 7300gs. There was another thing with previous project wireframe being visible when i opened new project/character, its only happening with skins, to do this you simply select skin so its wireframe is highlighted and then you open new character from menu, voilla - you can still see wireframe you highlighted but its kinda untouchable in front of newly opened character, something like opengl leftover drawn on top of everything. These are just minor quirks tho.
  11. Hey thanks , its a bit of a couple of things i was insterested with, dancing/illusion where you need fluid movements sometimes, it helps a bit. I made some boss characters with spriter , came out good but workflow is quite scary with random crashes

Thanks for testing and confirm of the bugs so its not like its only on my computer, it is possible to create animations using deformation but you have to be very very careful ,save after every change and before clicking on something you have to click on empty space to deselect everything, you must do this all the time to avoid crashes.I have other problems you mentioned too but i just avoid deleting stuff like this, biggest issue for me is problem with simple task like selecting different skin. I can understand that some of the problems might take more time to fix but select bug is really one of the first ones which should be fixed long long time ago, 10 months with no improvements on this part of the code is a lot, almost entire year and "wait till after 1.0" is always repeated but im not really asking about making it perfect and fixing all the bugs, just the basic one with selecting which is responsible for 90% of the crashes and if i see that it can be fixed simply by deselecting everything or selecting everything and selecting again then its just weird that simple solution isnt still implemented.Even simple thing like pressing Ctrl+ A between every step you do in spriter helps to avoid crashes, very simple hack could be implemented in a couple of minutes to "fix" this but no, what for .This isnt big stuff and i feel quite bad about bragging about it on forums , then i checked that its 10 months since were being told its experimental , I didnt really had chance to test deformation in spriter cause its not accessible in demo mode and didnt know how often its crashing, so i had to buy spriter to even try it.You can kinda guess how i felt about it.I have fps drop in recent version as well, its quite visible , animations arent so smooth anymore.

You dont have to finish it, just make the crashes disappear and dont add anything new, its simply select/deselect code and shouldnt be ton of work to deselect everything before selecting something else when working with skins. 10 months is really long and feature was left as is.I know im the one asking about this the most but in meantime spine got fantastic deformation feature http://esotericsoftware.com/forum/viewt ... f=5&t=3059 with a lot of features and deformation wasnt even in spine when spriter already had it. If you guys need money to fund deformation then do it like guys from spine and run kickstarter again, i will pay no problem. There are workarounds for most problems but simple crashes like this could be fixed in one day, thats not a lot of time in 10 months.Im not telling its easy to code it but i worked with sourcecode before and i know that select/deselect crash could be fixed very fast but looks like you guys dont want anything to do with it at all costs until magical 1.0 will be released and from kickstarter campaign i can paste this: "How will the funding be used? Simple. To pay basic living expenses while we continue to work fulltime to get Spriter to 1.0 over the next 9 months. " Its 10 months with deformation feature alone without anything new or bugfixing.I simply dont believe 1.0 will be released anytime soon so im asking to fix small problems now so it could be at least useable without having to use insane workarounds and save on every step.Whats the real reason to not fix the bugs on purpose i dont get it.Looks like there is some schedule but 1.0 is over 2 years behind schedule if kickstarter was funded in april 2012 and 1.0 needed 9 months to complete.I dont want to be the one who says this but its reality, it drags a lot and i was very enthusiastic when i bought spriter.I dont mind skins mode left as is but not with basic bugs like this.I see some new features in recent builds but deformation mode wasnt even touched and keeps crashin with simpliest tasks. :( I dont care about backwards compatibility, i can always keep older version this is not a problem at all.Problems is constant crashes.
  14. I created video with most of the problems i have in spriter during animating, do i need to send it to someone or just leave it here? Most of these arent fixed since 10 months but theyre very basic problems. Here is the video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8RnYS ... sp=sharing And here is spriter project file : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8RnYS ... sp=sharing It would be really nice if crashing when selecting other bodypart would be fixed, its possible to work around this if you will keep clicking on empty space to deselect everything before you select another bodypart, so i think its really simple bug that could be fixed quite fast if spriter would deselect everything automatically before selecting something else unless you want to select multiple objects holding CTRL.Im on winXP.I also used spriter on my old computers, on laptop, and its always the same thing, same bugs.

Im creating now animation using deformations and i figured that 99% of the crashes happen when i deselect something and select something else, i believe deselect/select code is buggy when you work in deformation mode, i tried to avoid selecting other bodypart/skin by ctrl+z and it works without crashes but once i select some skin and deform it then press on another skin then spriter is crashing almost all the time. :shock: This problem exists since this feature was implemented, its almost full year (10 months) since deforming was implemented and this wasnt fixed, so maybe its time to just take a small look at the source and figure out why it keeps happening, i bought spriter mostly because of deforming but working like this is a bit insane, i dont believe entire deform code needs to be rewritten to fix this small bug , its just selecting/deselecting , nothing serious here but it keeps spriter crashing, i have to save after every change i make when working with deformation. I can record video to show you guys how its crashing everytime when i select second bodypart after deforming first one. I know its still in beta stage etc but 10 months and fix wasnt adressed ? I dont know maybe people arent using it and not complain often enough so looks like everything is fine but its not. One more thing that would be very useful is copying keyframes when using skins/deformation mode , currently you cant do that, so its very hard to create animations where you have to replace bodypart with entirely new skin and new deformation, im not talking about replacing just image and maintaining skin deform but adding new ones to existing animation. Id say its impossible, you would have to spend a lot of time adding completely new skin to each keyframe because it just disappears on each keyframe that was already in animation, this problem doesnt exist when using regular sprites without deformation, you also cant move multiple skins at once, which also makes it hard to move big characters , i suppose you can if you will add bones to every skin but i dont want to use them, i would like to use them just like sprites, so i would really like to be able to copy/paste skins exactly like sprites with no limitations.

Export to png or gif doesnt work with subentities, it exports empty frames.I have one animation of spike coming out from the ground and wanted to clone it in another emptyh animation using subentities, it plays fine in spriter but its not really visible to export, it saves empty gif or empty png files. http://i.imgur.com/sj0TicC.jpg There is also one bug thats not fixed from a long time.... you open spriter project, then add animation , add one keyframe or more and some objects to this animation, dont save it yet then try to open the same project again from file menu - spriter will crash.

Gif export is great, only sometimes dithering is weird when strange single dots pop out from nowhere and dont really match the colour, one is original and other one is exported gif, i think dithering could be tweaked a bit so it doesnt go that far with out of range pixels that dont really match:

It preserves shapes perfectly, maybe if you would contact developer then he would share how he did it and it could be implemented in spriter so pixel art animating would be even better. Just look at examples: This is other program SolarStrings rotater which also rotates sprites preserving details and shapes + whats most important - source code is available for lookup and maybe create something similar http://wayofthepixel.net/index.php?topic=13052.0 In my opinion having something like solarstrings rotater as option to rotate sprites would be great, even if its not used in realtime during opengl preview but only when exporting.
  19. dont use pink, use gray dark colour, so it will blend more naturally with other colours.
  20. I have firefox here, i tried it on my samsung galaxy s i9000 which is 1ghz and it drops frames much more + characters arent visible but i can click and spark/dust anim shows on clicked area. I think speed is quite important if you would like to reach wide audiences and this game is fairly simple so i have no clue why it would lag with background and 2 characters only, maybe its how construct was made. Most if not all flash and html5 games play fine on my computer but this one is dropping frames., maybe cause its stretched to 1280x800.

Great that youre using assets from that platformer, im more fan of platformers tho and i cant see how smooth anims are because the game is quite laggy and definitely not even 30fps, id say its about 12 fps on my cpu.MAybe something to change quality would help.Maybe other users would have full 60fps i dont know.my machine is dualcore 3ghz

    Deformation

    I would prefere if skin feature was changed compeletely, they got it right in spine software and its easy to edit whenever you want, right now in spriter you can only edit it when setting up, then youre screwed if you made mistake cause you cant setup skins twice or more to fix problems.
