  1. Hey guys,

Great work on the tool so far, very impressive. My only feature suggestion/request is to be able to export to JSON instead of XML. I saw one other request for this, but thought I would mention it again. JSON would be fantastic.

    +1 for JSON.

Also it's my understanding that it is usually quicker to use spritesheets over loads of single images.

So how about exporting all the images of one character into a larger spritesheet and changing the files accordingly?

why no just use external tools like texturepacker? animate with single sprites and once your done and want to deploy into your engine/game/whatever.. optimize into a spritesheet and load that instead of the single sprites.

  2. i repeat myself here..

do you have a ballpark numbers for when we could expect some basic usability features like copy& paste of keyframes, undo/redo, duplication of animations, grouping of sprites etc. :)

edit: btw is there a reason you write the file format suffix SCML uppercase? this makes alot of problems with case sensitive engines and the more or less general rule to write such stuff lowercase.. :D

its nice to see new features being developed.. but somehow imho it would be best to build features on solid ground.. and from a usability pov, spriter is still faar away from being used properly..

its getting to the point where its frustrating

    cheers

  4. btw no problem on 2 additional windows 7 rigs

and works fine on early 2011 macbook pro 15 and late 2011 13" pro

it seems it has problems with onboard gfx and work with dedicated chips *shrug*

will test on 11" Air with an Intel onboard gfx by the end of the week

but there are 2 stationary minis with (same gfx card) and the same issue.. so what exactly do you need

to help you out fixing this bug?

  5. well under osx, the recent version crashes when i try to open your monster files.

when i try to load old spriter files the viewport looks broken..

if create a new project it looks ok, but haven't done much work yet with it..

under win7 the monster files opens.. haven't tried the old spriter files.. will check on different computers soon.

what i find odd is that you can't load a different project when you have one open.. need to close it completly and reload the app to be able to open another project..

thats it so faar.. more feedback will follow

  6. not sure where (website, forum, kickstarter) but i've read that you give out the file format descriptions to developers for early integration into their game/tools etc.

where would one need to apply to get access to the file formats build up description (instead of digging through the xml) ?

  7. Simplistic paint

I'd like to hack some really simple shapes together, or sketch out some ideas without having to jump to my workhorse image editor (Photoshop). These would basically be placeholder art that I'd reskin later.

well i would suggest just making your dummy prefab set yourself.. once made you can reuse tons of basic shapes for different ideas and exchange the assets later one..

i rather have brashmonkey completely nail the animation part instead of implementing a basic painting application into spriter.. i like focussed apps that do what they do at 110% rather than a big app that does everything but nothing really proper..

just my 2 cents.. cheers guys.

  8. Hi

i'm getting the same error as well and i did not see any prompts for installing such packages..

Can you give us links to all necessary resources needed to get the beta running?

Because for direct X 9.0c there are like a hundred different versions out there..

Also do you guys have a roadmap somewhere to see what features are planed when etc. ?

I understand you are very busy with all the Kickstarter stuff.. a short installation guide with links to the needed tools

would be appreciated.. and might reduce some of thoose tech related emails :)

    cheers
