  1. I'll definitely be looking into that! Thanks! Also, would I then export the characters to be assembled in something like After Effects or Premiere to do the full animations (including backgrounds, scenes, etc)? Or is this something that can be completely done inside Spriter?
  2. I am an original KS supporter, but haven't been following what's been going on with Spriter in a while as my video game project was put on really long hold. I am now wondering if spriter will work for a project I have in mind. I am aiming to create an animated short music video, animation style would be very much in the vein of Angry Birds, nothing too crazy, but I do need to sync mouths and actions to beats. I'm wondering if I can do the character animations (different mouth pronounciations etc) in Spriter and then export them to be assembled in something like After Effects or Premiere to do the full animations to the beat. Or is this something that can be completely done inside Spriter? Putting the whole thing together including background graphics etc? You can probably guess I'm not an animator, I do have help, but I'm not sure what software would be best for this. Any help would be appreciated! Nate
  3. I am also a little confused about how to use this with a freshly created character PSD. How exactly should you create the bone layers so it works properly when you import into Spriter? Should I copy the test PSD layout and just delete out joints I don't need?
  4. Ok let me first apologize, I didn't see the bug report post until today. Secondly, I figured out the inability to re-order the hierarchy, I actually had the bone hierarchy displayed while trying it, not the 'objects in frame' in the left window. Still hoping to find a solution to the duplicating sprites... should I also send a bug report in addition to this post? I hate to be redundant, but whatever is easier for you guys. Thanks!
  5. Hey guys, so after watching the tutorial videos I was ready to dive in and start playing with the A4 release on Mac. I didn't get very far as it seems a lot of the functionality isn't working right for me. I want to guess the main problem is probably because I am still running Leopard (10.5.8). I'll list what happened for you anyway in case I am wrong. Issues : - Dragging items from the File Palette to the Work Area was creating 2 of each sprite (duplicating them on top of each other). I could not delete the duplicates in the Heirarchy window, I had to first select them there, then select the work area window and hit delete. - Sprites can not be re-ordered in the hierarchy window. They Highlight and drag, but when you release the mouse button nothing happens. - The program crashed while I was trying to drag things around and try to change their hierarchy order. Any idea what may be causing my troubles? I feel like these problems are essential to fix so I can start playing with it with a decent workflow. Thanks, Nate
  6. Hey Mike, thanks for taking the time to answer my questions thoroughly. I had a lot to learn about making a game and learned a lot from the guys at Klei Entertainment at PAX EAST a few weeks back. Spriter sounds like it will be great for building all of our character animations, can it export right now for use with a custom C++ game engine? Or would that be a future plug-in?
  7. Wow so is it just a ridiculously large high res bmp exported from flash or a similar program?
  8. Ok so I watched what I think is the intro tutorial to the old Spriter and it said vector art was not supported... I was wondering if the new spriter was going to support vector art work. I would love love love to donate, but we need our game to be done with full scalable vectors. It's hard to tell because in the kickstarter video at the end when you are deforming the eye, that looks like it was vector made art, was it imported vector? Or saved as bitmap first and then imported? Thanks!
